State Wrestling Tournament Results

On Friday and Saturday the wrestling team competed in the State championship placing fourth.  Nine of our wrestlers obtained finishing places. On Friday the wrestling team competed in a tri-match with Auburn and Central Phenix City at the latter’s home.  The Jaguars won both matches, completing their regular season with a 24-4 record, the best of any Spain Park wrestling team and ranked third in the state. On Wednesday afternoon, the wrestlers traveled to Hoover High School for a tri-match with Hoover and Sparkman High School. Thursday night the wrestling team journeyed to James Clemens High School for a tri-match with James Clemens and Florence High Schools. Wrestlers Drop Match at Hewitt

Saturday afternoon, the wrestling team traveled to Hewitt -Trussville.  Unfortunately, thing did not go in favor of the Jags.  With two starters out due to injuries, the Jags struggled.  The final score was  35 -26 .  Fortunately, one of the bright spots was Rayshod Burst.  Rayshod entered the week ranked 1oth in state.  On Monday

On Thursday evening, the wrestling team hosted Vestavia Hills and Tuscaloosa in a regional tri-match. Thursday night was also Senior Night for the team.  The seniors who were honored were: MAX MILAZZO Current year:  14 wins, 12 by pin Lifetime:  53 wins, with 41 by pin FISCHER HARRISON Current Year:  5 wins, 3 by pin.

Wrestlers Dominate Dolphin Scramble

On Wednesday the wrestling team competed in the Dolphin Scramble at Gulf Shores High School. On Friday and Saturday the wrestling team traveled to Auburn High School to compete in the Swede Umbach Duals Tournament.
